Sneak Peek: Glancing Back & Moving Forwards

This time last year I was in Peru. I went for a month on a mission to turn my knitted homeware collection into reality! My ambitions were high and the trip got off to a rocky start when my yarn was stollen a few days before I arrived, but in the end I left Peru happy that, despite the obstacles, I had successfully managed to get my designs made. However, the problems didn’t stop there! Back at home I started the number crunching, reviewing my predicted costs with the actual cost of production and distribution. They were way off, despite me allowing for unpredicted expenses, and I realised that without economies of scale this venture was not financially viable. I decided to put it on hold.

This past year I’ve dipped my hand into a number of things; I’ve continued to freelance in fashion, as well as completing my yoga teacher training and I’ve even been back to Northumbria University, but this time as a lecturer rather than a student.  It’s been an inspiring, rather nomadic year. Now I’m ready to fully immerse myself into the next big thing…
