Knitted Wall Panels
MA Design Project 2016

The product that has been developed for this Masters project is a modular system of knitted wall panels, intended for decoration and reducing echo in hotel lobbies, restaurants and offices. This project investigated alternative ways of finishing and hanging the knitted fabric to enhance acoustic properties, as well as stitch development to simplify pattern customisation for one-off projects. The design was inspired by hand drawn sketches of variegated foliage, pixelated and juxtaposed with geometric shape, creating a half-drop repeat pattern with ombré colour that flows across the individual panels.
